NOTE TO EDITORS:

The Nuclear Regulatory Commission staff will hold a meeting with the operators of the McGuire nuclear power plant, located on Lake Norman, north of Charlotte, North Carolina, at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 15 to discuss results of the agency's latest Plant Performance Review for the facility. Results of the review are contained in NRC news release 99-26, issued on April 5.

The meeting will be held at the site in the plant administration building (Building 7438), Room TR155 and is open to observation by members of the public. NRC officials will be available at its conclusion to answer questions from interested observers and meet with state and local officials who attend.
