NRC AND FPC TO MEET DECEMBER 12 TO DISCUSS RESTART STATUS OF CRYSTAL RIVER NUCLEAR POWER PLANT IN FLORIDA
Meeting At Crystal River Will Be Open To Public Observation
Nuclear Regulatory Commission and Florida Power Corporation officials will meet on Friday, December 12, at Crystal River, Florida to discuss the status of company plans to restart the Crystal River nuclear power plant, shut down by the company in September of 1996 to resolve concerns related to plant design and compliance with regulatory safety requirements.
The meeting will be begin at 10:00 a.m. in the plant's training center, located south of town on West Venable Street, across from the Crystal River airport. Members of the public are welcome to attend for purposes of observation.
The meeting is between the NRC and FPC, but NRC officials will be available at its conclusion to answer questions from interested observers.
