NOTE TO EDITORS:

The Nuclear Regulatory Commission staff will meet with officials of Northeast Utilities on Tuesday, March 18, at

1:00 p.m. in the Waterford Town Hall. They'll discuss NU's corrective action program, performance indicators, and the progress of the Indpendent Corrective Action Verification Program (ICAVP) and the Employee Concerns Program at Millstone Station.

That evening at 7:00 p.m. in the Town Hall, the staff will meet with the public to discuss the status of the ICAVP, the Employee Concerns Program, the Restart Assessment Plans for all three Millstone Units, and recent inspection findings. The staff also will accept public comment on Northeast Utitilies' selection of the contractor for the ICAVP for Unit 2.

Copies of the pertinent reports are available at the Waterford public library.
