Overview
Below is a selection of applications and permits managed by the Permits, Conservation and Education Division. This is not a comprehensive list, but represents some of the more frequently requested. Also available for review are:
- ESA Permits and Applications (including sea turtles)
- MMPA Incidental Take Authorization (LOA/IHA) Applications
- MMPA Permits and Applications
Applications are announced with a notice in the Federal Register. You may submit comments on permit applications during the official public comment period listed in the notice via:

| Permit Applications for Steller sea lions (SSL) and northern fur seals (NFS) | |||
NMFS received 13 applications for permits for research on Steller sea lions (Eumetopias jubatus) and northern fur seals (Callorhinus ursuinus). These applications were available for comment through April 30, 2007.
A number of these permits were issued on June 18, 2007 (72 FR 35427, June 28, 2007). Two additional permits were issued on July 17, 2007 (72 FR 41064, July 26, 2007). |
