Review Pending ESA Applications and Select ESA Permits
Overview
There are two types of permits issued for take under the Endangered Species Act (ESA).
- ESA Section 10(a)(1)(A) Permits for scientific research or to enhance the propagation and survival of the species, and
- ESA Section 10(a)(1)(B) Permits for taking species incidental to (not the purpose of) an otherwise lawful activity.
Below is a selection of ESA applications and permits. This is not a comprehensive list, but represents some of the more frequently requested. Also available for review are:
Applications are announced with a notice in the Federal Register. You may submit comments on permit applications during the official public comment period listed in the notice.
ESA Section 10(a)(1)(A) Permits and Applications
Only select permits and applications are posted on the website; there are no ESA Section 10(a)(1)(A) applications posted at this time. However, permits and applications for endangered or threatened marine mammals are available on the MMPA Permit and Application Review page.
