NRC ISSUES PERFORMANCE AND INSPECTION INFORMATION FOR ALL OPERATING NUCLEAR PLANTS

The Nuclear Regulatory Commission has issued second-quarter performance and inspection results for all 103 operating nuclear power plants.

Information on the performance of each plant and results of inspections conducted in April, May and June have been posted to: http://www.nrc.gov/ras on the agency's Internet web site.

Under the agency's new reactor inspection and assessment program, the performance of each operating nuclear power station will be evaluated quarterly. Each evaluation will include performance indicators -- data which reflects the effectiveness of plant safety systems and procedures -- and the findings of NRC inspections.
