NRC ADVISORY COMMITTEE ON REACTOR SAFEGUARDS TO MEET IN ROCKVILLE, MARYLAND ON JULY 12 - 14 The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission's Advisory Committee on Reactor Safeguards has scheduled a meeting on July 12 - 14 in Rockville, Maryland, to discuss, among other items, activities associated with risk-informing the Commission's regulations governing nuclear power plants. The meeting, which will be open to the public, will be held in Room T-2B3 of the agency's Two White Flint North building, at 11545 Rockville Pike, starting at 8:30 a.m. each day. On July 12, the committee will discuss activities associated with risk-informing 10 CFR Part 50. The NRC staff and representatives of the Nuclear Energy Institute will also participate in the discussion. In addition, the committee will discuss a proposed American Society of Mechanical Engineers standard on probabilistic risk assessments. The committee will then prepare reports on topics discussed at this and previous meetings. On the following day, the committee will discuss its annual report to the Commission on NRC Safety Research and future schedules, as well as prepare ACRS reports. On July 14, the committee will continue its discussion of proposed ACRS reports, topics for an October 5 meeting with the NRC Commissioners, and miscellaneous items.
