NRC TO DISCUSS PERFORMANCE AT MILLSTONE NUCLEAR POWER PLANTS

Nuclear Regulatory Commission staff will meet with representatives of Northeast Utilities on Tuesday, June 20, to discuss the results of the agency's latest Plant Performance Reviews for the Millstone 2 and 3 nuclear power plants. Northeast Utilities owns and operates the plants, which are located in Waterford, Conn.

Issuance of the reviews was announced in NRC news release 00-059 on April 5. The Plant Performance Review letters for the Millstone units can be found on the agency's web site at: www.nrc.gov/OPA/ppr/

The meeting, which will be open to the public for observation, will be held at 1 p.m. at the Lelan F. Sillin Jr. Training Center at the plant site. At its conclusion, NRC staff will be available to answer questions from interested observers and to meet with state and local officials.
