NRC TO DISCUSS PERFORMANCE AT R.E. GINNA NUCLEAR POWER PLANT

Nuclear Regulatory Commission staff will meet with representatives of the R.E. Ginna nuclear power plant on Thursday, June 8, to discuss the results of the agency's latest Plant Performance Review for the facility. The plant, which is located near Rochester, N.Y., is operated by Rochester Gas & Electric Corporation.

Issuance of the reviews was announced in NRC news release 00-059 on April 5. The Plant Performance Review letter for the Ginna facility can be found on the agency's web site at: http://www.nrc.gov/OPA/ppr/.

The meeting, which will be open to the public for observation, will be held at 2 p.m. at the plant's Training Center, 1503 Lake Road, Ontario, N.Y. At its conclusion, NRC staff will be available to answer questions from interested observers and to meet with state and local officials.
