NRC to Hold Public Meeting to Discuss Latest Assessment of Sequoyah Plant

The Nuclear Regulatory Commission has scheduled a public meeting for Thursday, June 1 to discuss the NRC Reactor Oversight Program Annual Assessment for the Tennessee Valley Authority's Sequoyah Nuclear Power Plant.

The meeting will be at 10 a.m. EDT at the Sequoyah Training Center at the plant near Soddy-Daisy, Tennessee. NRC staff members will discuss the plant's performance and will be available after the meeting to answer any questions from media or members of the public.

The oversight program annual assessments are used to evaluate safety performance information and identify any changes in plant performance so the NRC can allocate inspection resources appropriately. The text of each report, including the one on Sequoyah, is available from the NRC Office of Public Affairs and has been posted on the NRC web site at: www.nrc.gov/OPA/ppr
