NRC Chairman Richard A. Meserve to Hold News Conference on January 7 Following Visit to Paducah Gaseous Diffusion Plant

Nuclear Regulatory Commission Chairman Richard A. Meserve will visit the Paducah Gaseous Diffusion Plant, operated by United States Enrichment Corporation, on Friday, January 7. Dr. Meserve will tour the site and meet with plant officials and members of the NRC staff. He will hold a news conference at the close of his plant visit.

The plant at Paducah, Kentucky, processes uranium for use as fuel in commercial nuclear power plants. Dr. Meserve will also visit the Honeywell Uranium Conversion Plant in Metropolis, Illinois.

The news conference will begin at 1:20 p.m. in the Conference Room of Building C-100 at the plant. The plant entrance is west of Paducah on Highway 60.
