Free access to Chinese science journals through 2006
Elsevier is offering free access to its recently launched China Collection through the end of 2006. These titles are available through ScienceDirect and currently includes 20 journals.
With China's ISI (Institute for Scientific Information) ranking having increased from 15th place in 1989 to 5th in 2005, China is the fastest growing country on the scientific stage. Chinese research funding is growing 20% annually, having reached the equivalent of US$70bn (Purchasing Power Parity) in 2005. Still, due to language and other barriers, 75% of Chinese science research never gets published abroad.
Free for review until the end of 2006, the ScienceDirect China Collection offers a unique insight into Chinese research.
