NOTE TO EDITORS:
A subcommittee of the Nuclear Regulatory Commission's Advisory Committee on Reactor Safeguards (ACRS) has scheduled a meeting on October 9 in Rockville, Maryland.
The meeting, which will be open to public observation, will begin at 8:30 a.m. in Room T-2B3, of the NRC's Two White Flint North Building at 11545 Rockville Pike. The Subcommittee on Reactor Fuels, Onsite Fuel Storage, and Decommissioning will discuss the basis of the NRC proposed fuel failure criterion for high burnup conditions, and the behavior and adequacy of NRC fuel codes under accident conditions. It also will hear the views of the Electric Power Research Institute.
Other aspects of the meeting, including an opportunity for public comment, will be described in a Notice of Meeting published in a forthcoming edition of the Federal Register.
