NOTE TO EDITORS:

The Nuclear Regulatory Commission's Special Projects Office (SPO) has scheduled five meetings on Millstone Station in Waterford, Ct.

They are:

On Tuesday, September 23, at 9:00 a.m., the SPO will meet with officials of Northeast Utilities (NU), Sargent and Lundy and Parsons Power Company to discuss the status of the Millstone Units 2 and 3 Independent Corrective Action Verification Programs (ICAVP).

At 1:00 p.m., September 23, the SPO will hold another in a series of periodic meetings with NU to discuss plans, schedules and progress toward recovery of the Millstone units. Topics include status of restart activities, the ICAVP and the employee concerns program.

On Wednesday, September 24, at 9:00 a.m., the NRC staff will conduct an exit meeting to discuss the findings of the NRC-led inspection of the Millstone Unit 3 ICAVP.

At 10 a.m., September 24, the NRC staff will meet with NU and Little Harbor Consultants to discuss the status of Little Harbor's oversight of the employee concerns program.

All of these meetings are open to the public for observation only, and will be held at the Leland F. Sillin Training Center at the Millstone site.

On Wednesday, September 24, at 7:00 p.m., the NRC staff will meet with the public to discuss the Millstone recovery efforts. This meeting will be held in the Waterford Town Hall.
