Nuclear Regulatory Commission officials in King of Prussia, Pa., have selected Jeff Laughlin as the new resident inspector at Salem Nuclear Generating Station in Lower Alloways Creek Township, N.J. He joins Senior Resident Inspector Michele Evans and Resident Inspectors Ho Nieh and Ray Lorson at the Salem site. Mr. Laughlin joined the NRC staff in August of 1991 as an emergency preparedness specialist in the Region I Office. He also has completed a rotational assignment as a resident inspector at the Hope Creek nuclear plant.
Prior to joining the agency, Mr. Laughlin worked as an area representative for The Navigators, a Christian Missionary Organization, first at the U.S. Air Force Academy and then at Randolph Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas. He was a submarine officer in the United States Navy from June 1973 through March 1980.
Mr. Laughlin earned a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering from the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Md., and a Master of Arts degree in international relations from Saint Mary's University in San Antonio, Texas.
Mr. Laughlin, his wife and four children live in Downingtown, Pa.
