NOTE TO EDITORS:
A subcommittee of the Nuclear Regulatory Commission's Advisory Committee on Reactor Safeguards (ACRS) has scheduled a meeting on August 27 in Rockville, Maryland.
The meeting, which will be open to public observation, will begin at 1:00 p.m. in Room T-2B3, of the NRC's Two White Flint North Building at 11545 Rockville Pike. The Subcommittee on Regulatory Policies and Practices will discuss technical and policy issues regarding the defense-in-depth approach to the regulation of nuclear power plants and its use in risk-informed regulation.
Other aspects of the meeting, including an opportunity for public comment, will be described in a Notice of Meeting published in a forthcoming edition of the Federal Register.
