Nuclear Regulatory Commission officials in Atlanta have announced the assignment of Michael Morgan as the agency's Senior Resident Inspector at the North Anna nuclear power plant, located near Mineral, Virginia.

Before joining the NRC, Morgan was an operator instructor with Consumers Power in Michigan and a simulator instructor with Westinghouse in Illinois. Morgan joined the NRC in 1986 as an operator examiner in the NRC's Region II office in Atlanta. He has also served a resident inspector at the Farley and Browns Ferry nuclear plants, both in Alabama. He received a Bachelor's degree in physical sciences from the University of the State of New York in Albany. He also received degrees in reactor technology and biological science from Joliet Junior College in Joliet, Illinois and Ferris State College in Big Rapids, Michigan.
