NEWS ANNOUNCEMENT: RIII-97-42 May 5, 1997
Nuclear Regulatory Commission officials in Lisle, Illinois, have announced the assignment of Garry Harris as the agency's Senior Resident Inspector at the Fermi nuclear power plant in Monroe, Michigan.
Harris joined the NRC in 1990 as an operator licensing examiner and later worked as a project engineer. Most recently, he had been a resident inspector at the McGuire nuclear power plant in North Carolina. Prior to joining the NRC, he worked on assignment with the Institute for Nuclear Power Operations as a nuclear plant maintenance evaluator. Also, for two years he was a reactor service engineer for Westinghouse Electric Corporation. He received a bachelor's degree in nuclear engineering from the University of Virginia and a master's degree in technology management from Southern College of Technology. Harris currently resides in Dearborn, Michigan.
