The Chairman of the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission, Dr. Shirley Ann Jackson, will visit Florida Power & Light Company's Turkey Point nuclear power plant near Homestead on Friday, January 24 and will be available to meet with interested media representatives at 1:00 p.m. (est) in the plant administration building.

She will meet with the NRC's resident inspectors and hold discussions with FP&L officials concerning operations at the company's nuclear facilities, along with a working tour of Turkey Point.

Dr. Jackson is a theoretical physicist who became an NRC commissioner on May 2, 1995 and was named Chairman two months later on July 1.
