NRC NAMES NEW RESIDENT INSPECTOR

AT MAINE YANKEE NUCLEAR POWER PLANT

Nuclear Regulatory Commission officials in King of Prussia (PA) have announced the assignment of Richard Rasmussen as the agency's Resident Inspector at the Maine Yankee Atomic Power Station in Wiscassett, Maine. He succeeds Bill Olsen, who has been reassigned to the Seabrook plant in New Hampshire.

Mr. Rasmussen began his career as a test engineer/chief test engineer at the Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard in Hawaii. Prior to joining the NRC in 1993, he worked as a system test engineer at Northrop Corporation in Palmdale, California. At the NRC, Mr. Rasmussen has worked as a reactor engineer, and as a resident inspector at Indian Point Unit 3 in Buchanan, NY. Mr. Rasmussen received a Bachelors of Science degree in mechanical engineering from California State University at Fresno.

Mr. Rasmussen joins the Senior Resident Inspector, Jimi Yerokun, at Maine Yankee. They can be reached at 207/882-7519.
