The Nuclear Regulatory Commission staff will meet with the public on January 28, 1997, to discuss the decommissioning of the Saxton Nuclear Experimental Facility near Saxton, Pa. Reactor operations at the facility were terminated in May 1972.
The meeting will begin at 7 p.m. in the Saxton Fire Hall at 8th and North Street in Saxton.
The meeting will include a presentation by the NRC on the decommissioning regulatory process, a licensee presentation on its planned decommissioning activities, and a question and answer period.
Saxton's post-decommissioning activities report, which was filed in February 1996, is available for public inspection at the NRC's local public document room at the Saxton Community Library and at the NRC's Public Document Room in Washington.
