NRC STAFF POSTPONES MEETING WITH WISCONSIN ELECTRIC TO DISCUSS RECENT INSPECTION FINDINGS AND POINT BEACH 2 STARTUP ACTIVITIES
The meetings between the Nuclear Regulatory Commission staff and Wisconsin Electric Power Co. officials, planned for Friday (January 10) in the Two Creeks (WI) Town Hall, have been postponed because of weather conditions.
The meetings will be rescheduled later.
Two meetings had been planned, one to discuss the findings of a special NRC team inspection at the Point Beach Nuclear Power Station. The second meeting was to discuss the status of utility performance improvement initiatives and to consider issues to be resolved prior to restarting Unit 2 at the plant.
Unit 2 has been shut down since October of last year for refueling and for replacement of its steam generators.
