Summary

The Lonesome Complex is managed by the Blue Mountain Interagency Incident Management Team. The fire is located about 12 miles east of Prospect, OR. The fire is currently on Rogue-Siskiyou and Fremont-Winema federal land as well as in the Crater Lake National Park boundary.

Fire Behavior

Single tree torching with short distance spotting. Fire is spreading in heavy fuels. Surface fire spread in late afternoon.

Significant Events

On the Northwest fire perimeter a burnout There was a successful burnout in the Red Blanket Drainage (north west side of fire). Continued progress with direct line to the north and east portion of the fire in the park.

Planed Actions

Continue to build line, mop-up and develop contingency lines when and where possible. Burn out as needed when conditions allow.

Costs are for the complex, however, acres and containment reflect the Middle Fork Fire only. The breakdown of acres are: Crater Lake Lake National Park (NPS)-1,715; Rogue River-Siskiyou NF - 16,766; Fremont-Winema NF - 489. The team is preparing for a transition on 9/24 with the Type 1 Pendleton Team.
