Short-Term Training Grants

T35: National Research Service Award Short-Term Institutional Research Training Grants

The National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences supports Ruth L. Kirschstein National Research Service Award Short-term Institutional Training Programs to eligible universities and educational institutions to provide full-time, environmental health research training experiences for health professional students during the summer or other "off-quarter" periods.

The Institutional National Research Service Award Short-Term Training Grants are intended to develop or enhance research training opportunities for individuals interested in careers in environmental health science research, and to help ensure that a diverse and highly trained workforce is available to carry out the Nation’s biomedical and behavioral research agenda. Institutional research training grants are designed to allow the director of the program to select the trainees and to develop a course of study and research experiences to provide high quality research training. The grant offsets the cost of stipend support for the appointed trainees prorated for the length of the training experience.
