LEBANON (May 14, 2008) — Lt. Gen. Martin Dempsey, Acting Commander, U.S. Central Command, visited officials in Lebanon Wednesday.

During the visit, Dempsey met with Lt. Gen. Michel Sleiman, commander of the Lebanese Armed Forces, and held discussions with Lebanese Minister of Defense Elias Murr and U.S. Chargé d’Affaires  Michele J. Sison. The discussions focused on the continued assistance to the Lebanese Armed Forces so it can maintain peace and stability, and safeguard the Lebanese people.
