Abstract:

This newsletter focuses on the mental health needs of children and youth with special health care needs (CYSHCN). It discusses the challenges and rewards of integrating public health, special education, and mental health in schools to meet the mental health needs of CYSCHN. The newsletter explains the risk factors and cascade effects for CYSCHN, innovative ways to provide mental health services in school settings, and early childhood health initiatives within the Minnesota Head Start program. It contains resources and references.
