Bibliography Format

Application Information

List complete publications for this project other than abstracts using the following format, which is the same as that used for the Scientific Directory/Annual Bibliography. The only differences you will note are that the citation is not preceded by a GPO type setting code, and that Patents have been added as a category. Please use the new formats shown below, which the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors has agreed on and which are based on formats used by the National Library of Medicine. NOTE THAT TITLES ARE NOT UNDERLINED and that periods are not placed after initials or journal abbreviations.

Do not list articles which have not been accepted for publication by a journal. For those "in press" cite the book or periodical in which they are to appear. For a project which is a continuation of one reported last year:

  1. Do not include any publications in this year's report which were cited last year with complete volume and page numbers given;
  2. Repeat any publications listed last year as "in press," this year giving the complete volume and page numbers.
