What is EnergyFiles? Top

EnergyFiles is sponsored, developed and maintained by the Department of Energy’s Office of Scientific and Technical Information (OSTI).  At this site you will find over 500 databases and Web sites containing information and resources pertaining to science and technology of interest to the Department of Energy, with an emphasis on the physical sciences.

EnergyFiles combines information, tools, and technologies to facilitate access to and use of scientific resources.  Energy Files is a DOE Science Accelerator Resource.   Please see About EnergyFiles for additional information.

What types of information will I find at EnergyFiles? Top

At Energyfiles, you will find science resources hosted by a variety of agencies and organizations.  This information is organized by subject pathways for more convenient and precise navigation.

Within each pathway, you will find numerous Searchable Databases.  You have the ability to choose one or many for a distributed deep Web search.  There are multidisciplinary databases, as well as subject-specific ones, covering energy-related areas in disciplines such as Chemistry, Engineering, and Physics, as well as Fossil Fuels and Renewable Energy.  You can also explore STI Resources and Tools, an extensive list of resources and sites within each subject.  Also, the Related Resources link will take you to a list of professional organizations, conferences, funding information, and other reference materials related to each topic area.

Could my site be included as a resource at EnergyFiles? Top

Potential sources for EnergyFiles must be reviewed for relevant content and appropriate format.  All resources must support research in an energy-related disciplinary area.  The reputation of the information owner, accuracy of the information, and evidence of site maintenance are important factors.  Our priority is to focus on .gov resources, but we do include other types of sites if they meet our collection development criteria.
