Tracing its roots to 1905, NAA is the custodian of major awards in aviation and responsible for the oversight of all records attempted within the United States. The primary mission of NAA is the advancement of the art, sport, and science of aviation and space flight by fostering opportunities to participate fully in aviation activities and by promoting public understanding of the importance of aviation and space flight to the United States. NAA has a diverse membership which encompasses all areas of flight from skydiving and models to commercial airlines and military fighters. For this reason, NAA offers several types of membership.

The Wright Way website will be a portal for the NASA education programs that incorporate aerospace as their theme, as well as a link to various Aerospace Technology Programs. This will give educators and the general public a guide to not only NASA educational resources, but also highlight the current research that is being conducted and correlate this to the process of invention that is used today by NASA researchers and was used 100 years ago by the Wright Brothers. Participants will relive the Wright Brothers¿ invention process, correlating it to the same process that NASA uses today in the development of new aerospace technologies.
