Snoqualmie River closed under
Tolt Bridge from July 1-17

The Snoqualmie River under the old Tolt Bridge west of Carnation will be closed to all boats and recreational users from Tuesday, July 1 through Thursday, July 17. The closure period includes the Fourth of July holiday weekend.

During the closure, the King County Road Services Division will be dismantling the old bridge. The county opened a new Tolt Bridge on May 30, and the old span must be removed at a time of year when fish passage on the river won’t be disrupted.

The river is being closed to protect the public from any falling debris, and to allow crews to have sufficient space to work on the demolition project. There will be a large barge on the river under the old bridge; also low-hanging cables will be strung across the river during the demolition.

Once the old bridge is removed, the riverbank will be restored with native vegetation.
