HLA Typing and Epitope Mapping

Introduction

A new class of immunological data has been accruing. Several studies defining reactive peptide maps scanning either most or all of HIV proteins have been obtained, where optimal epitopes are not usually defined, but reactive peptides and the individual's HLA types are defined for a large population-based study. In order that such data can be cross-compared between different studies, the NIH has requested we make such data available through the Los Alamos HIV database.

This site contains data tables, organized by study, that describe:

  1. Peptides: a list of the subjects that react with each peptide and their HLA type, and the IFN γ Elispot results.
  2. Subjects: each person's HLA, ethnicity, CD4 and viral load at time of sampling, and reactive peptides.
  3. Maps of overlapping peptides and HLA types of responding individuals, relative to the HXB2 reference strain.
