The mission of the Louisiana Disaster Recovery Foundation is to transform the disaster caused by hurricanes Katrina and Rita into an unprecedented opportunity for a new Louisiana — providing resources for the relief, recovery and betterment of all its people by ensuring access and opportunity in rebuilding their communities and culture.
LDRF's GRASSROOTS ADVANTAGE
Since hurricanes Katrina and Rita, LDRF has worked closely with more than 150 nonprofit grassroots organizations throughout Louisiana's coastal regions to provide relief, accelerate recovery and achieve betterment for impacted communities. LDRF's on-the-ground experience has culminated in the creation of an effective network through which LDRF receives timely and accurate information about the real needs of disaster survivors and is thus positioned to respond quickly, effectively and responsibly.
