I found ’Your Daily Calorie Needs’ and ’What’s On Your Plate And How Much Are You Moving’ very helpful. I have concrete tools to help me lower my sodium and control my weight that I can actually follow. Thanks so much.

This is the best. Since starting DASH in August, I have lost 32 pounds - my blood pressure has dropped from an uncontrollable 170/100 on medication to 118/77. I have lost over 7 inches off my waist and I feel better than I have in years.

I refer to your leaflet on the site. Please note blood pressure is measured in millimetres of mercury not milligrams.

Examples in meal plan are excellent.

I am a 52 year old white male and have been eating per this diet for 8 weeks, along with moderate exercise, and only 0,1, or 2 drinks per day and have lost 25 lbs. Blood pressure went from 160/90 to 130/75 and at times even lower. I plan to keep it up and lose another 10 lbs. By the way - I quit smoking about the same time and lost this weight! Now - I need to make it lifestyle change and not a diet.

This guide should be in every doctor’s office. I think that doctors should hand this out to patients with their prescriptions. Healthy eating is a must with high blood pressure and the guide shows you how to do that.

This guide provided the DASH information in a much more concise and usable format for me. It has also been really helpful over the past month or so that I’ve used the DASH.

I think that a sheet containing the list of food that one should eat is very ideal. Also important is the dosage of medication needed to lower hypertension to a safe level.

Everyone should be doing this diet. It is the definite guide to a better nutrition.

I think that this is a great brief to get started with. High blood pressure is a very serious disease and every helpful hint or remedy that I can obtain is wonderful. To the person that made the comment about all the decorative pages and what ever else they rambled on about, the decorative pages mean nothing if you are willing to look at the great information that is in it. They obviously needed to complain about something and didn’t have anyone else to complain to.

My husband lowered his blood pressure, without drugs and in a matter of weeks, from 185/105 to a reasonable 140/95ish. With a minimum of medication he should be in the acceptable range and much, much healthier overall.

I’m sure this would be useful worldwide in a downloadable format

Sorry, but something without enough content to be worth making available online as text without fancy text and accompanying pictures is not something I have any interest in--and if in fact this does have useful content but I can’t access it without having to deal with distracting decorative type and images, then this is again something I have no interest in.

From calorie needs to a sample menu, this short summary of DASH does a great job of briefly explaining the eating plan. Offering this pamphlet in electronic format, which is not now the case, would be very useful.
