Description

The King County GIS Standard Data Disk contains a wide variety of countywide spatial data layers in shapefile format arranged by theme. A parcel layer, with the single attribute of PIN (parcel identification number) is included. The files are a subset of those that are stored and maintained in "plibrary," the KCGIS enterprise data warehouse.

The disk also includes eight of the most frequently requested King County Assessors Extracts in DBF format, a property personal geodatabase, and three other sample ArcGIS 9.x personal geodatabases in MDB format, which contain subsets of the KCGIS Standard Data layers.

The contents of the disk are documented on disk in a set of HTML pages, which can be accessed using a web browser. Some datasets may have limited documentation, which will be updated in future releases of this product. The HTML pages are known to work with Netscape 4 and Internet Explorer 4, and should also work with any browser that supports frames.

KCGIS standard data references the Washington State Plane coordinate system with linear distances expressed in feet.pagetop button
