NOAA Fisheries Office for Law Enforcement participates in numerous events, symposiums, conferences, trade shows and the like.

These events enable OLE personnel to interact directly with the general public, answer questions, distribute information and educate the public about the laws and regulations that the OLE enforces. It also allows the public a free forum to ask detailed to general questions about fisheries, importations and OLE's mission.

The OLE also periodically makes a variety of presentations to numerous groups. An agent may make a presentation about the Marine Mammal Protection Act to a Boy Scout troop one week, and speak with a local sportfishing organization about an upcoming billfish tournament the next.

While outreach events may range formal panel discussions or to coffeehouse chats with fishermen about new Federal regulations, these interactions serve to strength the ties between the OLE and local stakeholders.

The OLE also participates in various conferences that rotate among the divisions including the National Marine Educators Association's annual conference and the Dive Equipment Manufacturer's Association's annual conference.

NOAA's Bring-A-Child-To-Work Day is another event which most divisional offices participate.
