Advanced CAC (Text Integration Utilities and Advanced Templates)
The Text Integration Utilities (TIU) component of the IHS Resource and Patient Management System (RPMS) simplifies the access and use of clinical documents for both clinical and administrative personnel by standardizing the way clinical documents are managed. In connection with Authorization/Subscription Utility (ASU), an I/T/U can set up polices and practices for determining who is responsible or has the privilege for performing various actions on required documents.
The purpose of this hands-on course is to provide Clinical Applications Coordinators (CACs), Pharmacy Package Administrators, Medical Records Professionals, and Clinicians who will be involved in the development of TIU templates the skills for: (a) setting up document parameters; (b) making/editing note titles; (c) setting up business rules; (d) printing notes; (e) using the TIU upload function; (d) developing note templates; and (e) making template fields and objects.
The objective of this week is to develop for each site a basic understanding of how to create note titles, business rules on which types of users should take action on notes (e.g. sign/cosign, etc.) as well as the development of an IHS standard note title base that allows for overall IHS note title standardization. The user will also be taught how to do note templates (both beginner and advanced features). During the week the users will be (if possible) working in their facility's RPMS site in order develop real products for their use. The intent is for the students to walk away from this training session with business rules, templates, and standard note titles for the immediate use at their sites.
