NOTES:
- This report is based on Thomson ISI Science Citation Index Expanded® (SCIE) data made available in SearchPlus. LANL authors publish in peer-reviewed journals not indexed in SCIE. SCIE doesn't index books, book chapters, conference proceedings, patents, or government reports.
- SCIE data for papers published in a given year are added to SearchPlus throughout the year and may continue to be added for as many as two to three years after the publication year. Consequently, many of these reports are generated in the third quarter after the publication year of interest, when new records for papers published during the publication year have tapered off. For example, the report on 2002 publications was generated August 2003.
- Citation counts include citations from current year SCIE data in SearchPlus. For example, the report on 2002 publications includes citations from 2003 publications added to SearchPlus through August 2003.
- Citation counts from SearchPlus may include citations from publications indexed after this report was generated.
- Citation counts from SearchPlus may include citations from publications indexed in other Thomson ISI databases which LANL users are authorized to use.
- There isn't always a one-to-one mapping for second authors and their institutional affiliation. This means that it isn't always possible to accurately associate second authors with their institution.
- No attempt was made to normalize author or institution names.
