Postdoctoral Position in Section on Protein Structure and Function

A postdoctoral fellowship position is available to study proteins that affect the development and function of the retina. The current goal of our section is the elucidation of the mechanisms by which PEDF, a neurotrophic and antiangiogenic factor, affect retina physiology and disease. Major interests include: cell-surface receptors, protein interactions, signal transduction, structure-function, extracellular matrix, sustained delivery systems, cell survival and differentiation, and angiogenesis. Additional information and references may be found on the NEI Web site, http://www.nei.nih.gov/intramural/protein_struct_func.asp.

Applicants must have a Ph.D. and/or M.D. degree with less than five years of postdoctoral experience, preferably in biochemistry, molecular biology, and/or cell biology. The position is open immediately.

To apply, send a letter explaining the candidate's interest in the position and long term career goals, CV, and the names and telephone numbers, postal and e-mail addresses of three references to becerrap@nei.nih.gov. Or send the above to:
