Public Hearings on 20-Year Patent Term and Provisional Applications

On Thursday, February 16, 1995, the Patent and Trademark Office held a hearing on issues associated with conversion to a 20-year patent term measured from the date of filing an application in the U.S., and the introduction of provisional applications. the full details are available in the Federal Register Notice. The Federal Register Notice invited written comments, with a deadline of February 17.

Public Hearings on 18-Month Publication of Patent Applications

In February 1995, the PTO held public hearings on issues associated with the 18-month publication of patent applications; the full details are available in the Federal Register Notice. The Federal Register Notice invited comments both in electronic and paper form, with a deadline of February 17.
