Chinook: Scheduled Downtime
September 15, 2008 5:19 PM - As we work to get Chinook ready for Phase-2 operation, we will need to have additional outages scheduled. The next scheduled outage will begin at 6:00 p.m. (PDT) on Monday, September 22, 2008 for 56 hours. Chinook will be available again early Thursday morning September 25th.
Chinook: Chinook - Scheduled Downtime Aug. 27-28
August 20, 2008 11:54 AM - Chinook will be unavailable for 48 hours beginning at 8:00 a.m. (PDT) on Wednesday, August 27th until 8:00 a.m. Friday, August 29th. During this outage, HP will be connecting additional nodes to Chinook Phase-1, installing patches and testing the system. Data will not be lost but jobs waiting in the queue may need to be resubmitted.
Chinook: Chinook - Network Downtime
August 18, 2008 5:13 PM - As part of PNNL?s continued commitment to provide reliable, secure, and high-performance networks, the PNNL Network infrastructure will be upgraded Labor Day weekend. Chinook and all network services including NWFs and Web pages will be unavailable for 56 hours beginning Saturday, August 30 at 7:00 a.m. (PDT) and lasting until 3:00 a.m. Monday, September 1st. This NETWORK outage should not affect jobs running on Chinook. You just will not be able to log onto Chinook to view results or submit new jobs during the above times. MPP2: MPP2 - Shutdown August 1, Forever
July 31, 2008 4:12 PM - After five years of service, MPP2 will have its disks wiped, power cut, and cables pulled out to allow space to complete the assembly of Chinook. Molecular Science Computing at EMSL Pacific Northwest National Laboratory

July 25, 2008 4:50 PM - Chinook is available again. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.
Chinook: Chinook is Down
July 25, 2008 3:20 PM - Chinook /home file system is currently unavailable rendering it unuseable. We are working to correct this problem as soon as possible. If you were transferring files from MPP2 to Chinook at this time, you should check to confirm that all files were copied.
MPP2: MSC Scheduled Power Outage July 24th
July 18, 2008 11:56 AM - MPP2 will be powered off by 3:30 p.m. (PDT) and should be returned to service Thursday evening. Chinook will be off-line starting late morning or early afternoon. This outage is necessary for adding addition power to the computer room to accommodate Chinook expansion.
MPP2: MPP2 & NWfs Back in Service
July 14, 2008 4:53 PM - MPP2 and NWfs are back in service and the MPP2 queues are active. Chinook Phase-1 has yet to be back in service.
MPP2: MSC Computers - Power Bump
July 14, 2008 10:45 AM - Power was lost to our computer room causing all systems to shut down. The network has been restored, MPP2 will be back on line shortly, Chinook Phase-1 will be back on line after that.
MPP2: Scheduled Downtime Cancelled
July 09, 2008 5:01 PM - The normally scheduled MPP2 downtime for Friday, July 11th will not occur. Queues will be kept open and the machine will be available.
