Another summer DASTOW in 2007

The summertime DASTOW for Fermilab employees, users and their children comes around again on Thursday, June 21 with all the old favorites: the group photo, the Cryo Show, the Fire Department presentation, and the buffalo pasture visit and talk with herdsman. New this year: insect sweeping on the prairie. Again, there are also Prairie Tours at 10 a.m., 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.

A morning activity, available BY SIGN-UP ONLY, offers high school girls the opportunity to spend one-on-one time with a woman scientist or engineer. AVAILABILITY IS VERY LIMITED. For information, email dastow@fnal.gov.

The rest of afternoon can be used for those who would like to focus on having kids to spend time with their parents in their workplace, learning what they do and how they do it, and how their responsibilities fit into the context of the work of the laboratory as a whole. You must make sure ahead of time that your supervisor approves. And you must make absolutely sure that everything is done in a safe way.

Start the day at 8:45 a.m. on the front steps of Wilson Hall for the annual DASTOW group photo (posters will be available for pickup on Friday). Move into Ramsey Auditorium at 9:00 a.m. And then the program begins with Mr. Freeze's Cryo Show.

Be safe, and have fun!
