Welcome to the USDA West Virginia Rural Development
web page. Our West Virginia Rural Development team takes
great pride in helping the communities and people we
serve as we continue to deliver more and more of USDA
Rural Development's resources to the farthest corners
of rural West Virginia. Like other regions of rural
America, West Virginia is blessed with hardworking people
and safe communities.
However, we also share many of the modern challenges
that face other rural regions around America. The rapid
growth in international commerce and trade resulting
from technology like the Internet continues to force
us to remain competitive with not only other regions
of America, but indeed the rest of the world. For this
reason, expect USDA West Virginia Rural Development
to continue playing a direct and significant role in
creating or retaining jobs, providing safe and affordable
housing, or delivering one of the countless other community
and economic development programs that we participate
in or administer.
Established and operated as a federally funded venture
capital entity, USDA Rural Development has invested
over $76.8 billion in rural America since the Bush Administration
took office in 2001. This commitment to rural America
advances our primary mission, which is to increase economic
opportunity and improve the quality of life in rural
communities through effective program delivery. USDA
West Virginia Rural Development also provides skilled
staff with the resources and experience necessary to
deliver the best service possible through our programs.
Specifically, USDA West Virginia Rural Development offers
a diverse range of loan, loan guarantee and grant programs
in business and industry, affordable housing and homeownership,
and critical community infrastructure like water and
wastewater systems and improved rural technology infrastructure
for hospitals and schools.
USDA West Virginia Rural Development also works diligently
on developing the necessary partnerships with public
and private sector organizations, non-profits, as well
as the various community developers and civic leaders
throughout West Virginia, our region, and the nation.
Through these essential relationships, we are able to
leverage more resources for our rural residents to access,
while at the same time encouraging more lenders and
other organizations to participate and invest in rural
community economic development.
Once again, welcome to the West Virginia USDA Rural
