Diversity and Disability Affairs Office – It is the goal of the NSA/CSS to provide a work environment that allows all employees, including those with disabilities, to have long and productive careers. The NSA/CSS Diversity and Disability Affairs Office understands the important of customer driven services.

Employee Assistance Services – The primary goal of the Employee Assistance Service (EAS) is to enhance employee productivity and well-being. EAS provides a wide range of confidential counseling and consultation services by licensed/certified mental health professionals to Agency civilian and military employees and their dependents. EAS recognizes the importance, to the individual and ultimately to the Agency, of employees maintaining a healthy balance among work, personal, and family priorities.

Ergonomics Program – Repetition and static posture are the two largest contributions to musculoskeletal discomfort associated with computer work. The Ergonomics team provides Agency employees with recommendations for arranging workstations to eliminate or reduce ergonomic risk factors in their work environment.

First Call For Help – The Work/Life Services organization offers Agency employees a user-friendly software program with over 3,000 resources for finding agencies and services in Maryland that can assist in the following areas: Basic Subsistence, Substance Abuse, Environment Quality, Individual and Family Life, Criminal Justice and Legal Services, Mental Health Care and Counseling; Organizational/Community Services, Target (special interest) Groups, Consumer Services, Education, Health Care, and Income Security.

Focus on the Field – The Work/Life Services organization provides Agency employees with information and resources associated with taking a Permanent Change of Station assignment: international and DoD schools, home schooling, overseas employment for spouses and family members, traveling with children, culture shock, etc.

Health Promotion/Wellness Program – The NSA/CSS Health Promotion/Wellness Program offers Personal Wellness Physicals, Influenza Program, Hope Newsletter, Bone Density Screenings, Quarterly Speakers, and Eyeglass/Hearing Aid Recycling.

Leave Sharing Program – The Temporary Medical Leave Assistance Program is designed to provide Agency employees with paid annual leave, when his/her absence is due to a personal or family medical emergency or condition and the absence causes serious financial/economic hardship, because paid leave is not available.

Pathways – Pathways is an innovative program that provides guidance and direction for Agency employees and their families affected by major illness or injury.

Shiftwork Services Program – Shiftwork Services helps operational elements of the Agency accomplish the mission by assisting management in designing shiftwork centers that simultaneously maximize the health, well-being, efficiency, and productivity of shiftworkers, thus improving the overall quality of the work while reducing expenditures.

Telecommuting/Telework – Telecommuting is an arrangement where an employee performs official duties at an alternate worksite, away from the traditional office (during regularly scheduled work hours). It is an innovative management tool that provides managers and employees greater flexibility to manage work and life issues. It is a management option rather than an employee entitlement and does not change the terms and conditions of employment.

VolunteerLink - Work Life Services' VolunteerLink Program connects NSA/CSS employees with volunteer service opportunities in their communities.

Work/Life ConnectionsWork/Life Connections is an educational program that provides a variety of information to help Agency employees manage the demands and priorities of both their work and personal lives.
