Rio Grande Heritage Farm

Heritage Farm Sign

The City of Albuquerque and the Albuquerque Biological Park are proud to announce that the Rio Grande Heritage Farm, a new 10-acre exhibit at Albuquerque's Rio Grande Botanic Garden, is now open to the public. Heritage Farm visitors will take a trip back in time to farm life along the Rio Grande in the 1920s and 1930s.  Programs for this year-round working farm include interpretive presentations, hands-on demonstrations and farm activities.

The Heritage Farm features an adobe farmhouse, vineyard, heirloom and commercial apple orchards, field crops, small and large vegetable gardens and farm animals and equipment.  The adobe animal barn is home to a pair of Percheron draft horses, Alpine goats, Hampshire pigs, a Jersey cow, Churro sheep and Dominique chickens. The farm is located just northeast of the conservatories.  Entry to the Rio Grande Heritage Farm is included with regular botanic garden/aquarium admission.
