Alexandria Mayor Euille and Rep. Moran to Join USPTO's Community Day Celebration
“Many Skills, One Remarkable Community” is this Year's Theme

Washington, D.C. — On Thursday, June 7, 2007, the Department of Commerce's United States Patent and Trademark (USPTO) will hold its 11th annual Community Day recognizing the many cultures represented in its workforce. Joining USPTO Director Jon W. Dudas and agency staff at Community Day will be Alexandria Mayor William D. Euille and U.S. Representative Jim Moran.

On Community Day, The U.S. Air Force Honor Guard Drill Team will show off the Air Force's heritage of precision and discipline through their large 16-man performance demonstration. The Alexandria police department's SWAT team and fire department's search and rescue will be demonstrating their skills at rappelling down the side of the Edmund Randolph Building on the USPTO campus. They also will display some of their specialized equipment including the Armored Personnel Carrier (APC) and ladder truck.

Community Day will feature exhibitors and vendors, live music, a health fair, and international games, foods and dress representing the diversity of USPTO's workforce. This year's celebration also will include the annual custom automobile and motorcycle show.
