Description
A nonprofit consumer information and advocacy program, the Privacy Rights Clearinghouse (PRC) was established in 1992 with a mission to raise consumers' awareness of how technology affects personal privacy. PRC advocates for consumers' privacy rights in local, state, and federal public policy proceedings, including legislative testimony, regulatory agency hearings, task forces, and study commissions as well as conferences and workshops. The clearinghouse services include a consumer reporting hotline and fact sheets on privacy issues, available in English and Spanish.
