Description

HRSA's Office of Minority Health provides leadership Agencywide for programs and activities which address the special health needs of racial/ethnic minorities to eliminate disparities, while improving health status. The major functions of this office are to: advise the Administrator on minority health issues affecting HRSA programs and mandates; work with Bureaus/Offices in the formulation, integration, and evaluation of program strategies for racial/ethnic minority populations; link HRSA programs addressing minority health to potential external sponsors, including federal, state, and local health agencies and professional and constituent organizations; collect data on minority health activities within HRSA to meet statutory reporting requirements and assist in HRSA policy development; and represent HRSA programs affecting the health of racial/ethnic minorities to the health community, and organizations in the public, private, and international sectors.
