Description
Established in 1994, this not-for-profit self-help organization is dedicated to providing mutual support to families affected by Transverse Myelitis, an acute spinal cord inflammation involving both sides of the spinal cord. The TMA also advocates for people who have recurrent TM, Acute Disseminated Encephalomyelitis (ADEM) and Devics Disease. The Association enables affected families to exchange information, support, and resources; engages in patient advocacy; conducts group meetings; and offers phone support. The Association engages in patient and professional education, and offers a variety of reports and brochures on Transverse Myelitis. The Transverse Myelitis Association also publishes a newsletter twice a year. All of the Association publications may be found on our Web site.
