Description

The Compassionate Friends, Inc. (TCF) is a nationwide nonprofit self-help organization offering support to bereaved families following the death of a child. TCF's mission is to assist families toward the positive resolution of grief following the death of a child of any age and to provide information to help others be supportive. TCF's nearly 600 chapters receive funding primarily through voluntary contributions. The national organization income is derived from individual member donations, chapter fees and donations, sales of resource material, conference proceeds, and the business and philanthropic communities. TCF Foundation, Inc. has been established to ensure future financial stability of The Compassionate Friends, Inc.

TCF's national office publishes a wide variety of brochures and handouts, plus a limited selection of audio and videotapes on the general subject of the death of a child and/or sibling and on specific aspects after the death of a child. Serial publications: The Compassionate Friends quarterly national magazine, "We Need Not Walk Alone," contains educational information from a variety of sources, plus personal reflections and poetry from bereaved family members.
