Description

The Living Bank is a nonprofit organization established in 1968 to promote organ, tissue, and body donations through public education and registration of donors. A central registry of donors is maintained, and anatomical donations are referred to the nearest medical facility at the time of the donor's death. Education about organ and tissue donation is conducted through educational materials and Local Living Bankers (volunteer representatives of The Living Bank) in communities throughout the country.
